Finhappening

Hi from Finland.

B and I are here now on a little holiday for a month. We miss M, but are enjoying home, of course. Yesterday B got excited about sauna and swimming. We visited my brother and his spouse and tried out their new hot tub, which is heated up with wood. It was fabulous as the weather was chilly and we were just relaxing in the pool! Of course we also went to Sauna, and B really seemed to enjoy it, for the first time in his life. He threw water on the heater and said “siiiiihhhhhhhhhhh” and laughed :D

Since the blog is about Lebanon, I guess I shouldn’t be posting too much about our holidays in Finland. I think the ball is now with M – and he already started posting :) and I will continue when we return to Beirut.

Hugs and kisses to all,

The simple joy!

Hi all, since M has left me and is with B in Finland visiting her Family, I guess I have to take over and post whats happening!

First of all, I miss my other half. It is actually not easy to be alone in a country that you don’t know and specially dont know (yet) your ways around. Also you see and recognize how much you depend on your partner.

The simple joy that has inspired me today and actually MADE my day was the shower! First  I have to tell you guys that the shower was absolutely rubbish! With that I mean the pressure of the water. It was almost non-existent. Some may say, well whats the big deal you have at least Water. And I agree with that statement. Some people dont even have water to drink and I am complaining about the water pressure.

However, yesterday the Water pressure was fixed and I was able to have my first proper shower. Amazing. Nice Hot water streaming down your back. No more squeezing to the wall to get all the water drops on you.

I know for some this might not be a biggy, but it really made my day.

Lebanese hairdresser

I’ve been dreading to go to the local hairdressers. In Finland I’ve had the luxury of having my cousin as my personal hairstylist, and I always love everything she makes with my hair. I’m very peculiar about how my hair has to be… and so I guess is most women! But now I had to go. My hair had grown way too much and the color was growing out too. So I went.

The hairstylist was a middle aged man with loooong, curly hair on a ponytail. At first I felt that he had no idea what he was doing, but at the end, the result was ok. Not exactly what I wanted, but it’s not like he totally ruined my hair like I was afraid of :D but the process was funny, with the lady assistant shampooing my hair 4 TIMES when washing off the color from my hair, and the guy himself blow-drying my hair and every once in a while blow-drying his own curls away from his shoulders – and then continuing with mine :D

Well. Lets see… I now know that in emergencies I dare to go to a hairdresser here.

FOOD part …7?

I don’t know how many posts I’ve done in this category already… but here’s a little bit older pic from two weeks ago when we were invited to a sweet family just down by the road for lunch. Here the treats we were offered:

It was a yummy yummy lunch! Although I cannot say which food is Lebanese and which from Iraq, since that’s where this family is from. Delicious in any case!

Finding supplies like we are used to is a little hard here. Some while ago I posted about the tiny cucumbers. Now I’ll post about the HUGE onions :D

Impressive, eh?

hello hello

I’m having an empty head. To be honest I’m not feeling very well and I miss home :/ I’ve bought tickets for me and B to go to Finland in couple of weeks. I’m looking forward to it!

So for now, days just seem to kind of repeat themselves, nothing new, nothing so interesting to post. I don’t really have enough intellectual brain activity either at the moment in order to be just writing about some important topics. So it’s a little silent breach here on the blog. I guess it describes my overall mood..

Just bear with me, I’m sure things will turn around soon and I’ll have some news here for you in no time.

Hugs
